Myrrh was known for its aroma, it’s medicinal qualities. This high-quality oil is mentioned in both the Old and New Testament. It was used as a trade good; it was one of the sacred oils. Myrrh was used in burials, it was a consecrated oil, an oil given as an offering unto God and Christ at his birth.
