This dropped in my spirit so strongly today, and I want to talk to and encourage the Leah’s, the misfits, those that have been rejected, made fun of, marked, to the ones that don’t look the part, but purpose is in your womb!! Leah’s testimony in scripture is one of rejection, pain, perseverance, but one of Divine Favor. Jacob loved Rachel. But Leah was not loved by Jacob and was given to him in marriage through the deception of her father Laban. Leah’s history in Isreal is the mother of both the priestly line Levi as well as the Messianic line Judah. Though Leah was unloved by Jacob she was loved by God. God showed her compassion and blessed her womb. In this we can see God’s pattern of choosing the overlooked to fulfill His purposes. Genesis 29:31a(ESV) – When the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb. She named her 1st 3 sons based on her pain, her rejection that was speaking louder than her purpose. She named her 1st son Reuben – See, a son, God has seen my misery. 2nd son, Simeon – God has heard; 3rd son Levi – Attached, joined or united, she was still hoping Jacob would love her. But her shift came when she gave birth to Judah and decided that she would praise the Lord. Judah means – Praise!!! Our breakthrough from the spirit of rejection, seeking people’s approval and love is the Spirit of Praise!!! Despite of it all we will yet praise the King of Kings and The Lord of Lords! Let’s look at these 4 things. 1. Leah was overlooked, but it opened the door for Divine compassion to be extended and her womb became fruitful. 2. She was not man’s preference, but God’s preference to birth the priestly and royal lines. 3. She had an identity beyond rejection; she had to move from longing for man to accept her to Praising God! We must purpose in our heart to move from wanting man to accept us and understand that God’s acceptance opens the fruit of our spiritual womb! 4. Purpose born from pain, her purpose of pain and rejections becomes part of Christ purpose in the earth as he was rejected, crucified, however his rejection had purpose to open to us salvation, redemption and reconciliation back to the Father. Our pain has purpose, to perfect us, mature us, develop us and cause us to bring forth more fruit! My next 5 points are these: 1. God see’s what others ignore. Your pain is not invisible to God. He sees and he knows. He knows the number of hairs on our heads! 2. God responds to injustice – Leah’s womb was opened her legacy was multiplied. 3. We cannot let or identity be anchored in the acceptance of man. It hinders our growth and movement in our Kingdom assignments. For we decree and declare that we will yet Praise Your name God, for Your love, compassion and goodness to us. 4. Remember your purpose is not diminished by people’s preferences. God chose Leah in spite of Jacob’s preference to birth the priestly and royal lines. We decree and declare that whatever God has chosen you to birth will come forth, whatever he has assigned you to do, you shall do and it will be fulfilled in and through you. 5. Your rejection is not the end of your story; it is the beginning of God’s Divine Reversal!!!
I want you to ask yourself these 3 things? Then shift from that place, apply the word and open your mouth in PRAISE!!!! 1. Where have I felt unseen? 2. Where have I sought human approval more than God’s affirmation? 3. Where is God inviting me to shift from longing to praise?
Let’s Pray!!
Father, I thank you for seeing me in every place where I have felt overlooked or unloved. Like Leah, teach me to anchor my identity in Your gaze, not in the approval of people. Open the places in my life that have felt closed. Birth purpose out of my pain. Birth your will and your way out of my pain. Shift my heart from striving to praise!!! Let Your favor rewrite my story and open my wound to fruitfulness, just as You did for Leah. In Jesus Christ name Amen!!!!
